Privacy policy

Super Preview has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Your files are read on your own computer, and nothing about them is sent to us.

The short version

Super Preview collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising.

Your documents are read on your own computer.

What stays on your computer

  • Your documents. The app opens them where they are, and never uploads them.
  • Your settings. The look you picked, the zoom and whether the sidebar shows. They are kept in the app's own data folder.

When Super Preview uses the network

  • Update check. A few seconds after it opens, the app asks static.superpreview.app, served by Cloudflare, whether a newer release exists. The request carries no identifier for you. An update downloads only when you click Install and restart.
  • Pictures on the web. A document can point at a picture on the web, as some Markdown files do. The app then loads that picture from its address, the way a browser would.
  • Links. A web link you click in a document opens in your browser.

This website and the downloads

This site is a set of static files served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.

Downloads and updates are served from static.superpreview.app, also by Cloudflare, which keeps the same standard request logs.

Your data rights

The app and this site give us no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to share or erase. Your settings are on your own disk, and removing the app's data folder clears them.

Super Preview is not made for children, and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Anything that matters is noted in the changelog on the home page.
